Audrey Hepburn

How About Breakfast at Tiffany's?

Many of you out there will have that one favourite movie that was created years (even decades) before you were even born. Or your parents were born.

I, for example, simply adore Breakfast at Tiffany's.
It is one of the most magical and fashion-savvy films I've seen, and is definitely an all-time best! It stars arguably the most beautiful film-star of all time, Audrey Hepburn, as classy yet eccentric socialite Holly Golightly, who lives in 60's NYC. Her portrayal of so-called 'cafe society' girl Holly is credited as one of the most famous roles ever played in American film history!
If you've watched the movie ( and if you haven't, HOP TO IT) you will have stared in awe at Hepburn's style and simple beauty, wishing it were that easy to look so beautiful! Below is a few tips on how you can transform yourself into a modern day Audrey!

'Oh golly gee damn!'

1). Less is More
Audrey always kept it minimalistic when it came to clothing, often sticking to neutral colours. To replicate this, choose quality over quantity, as timeless pieces will keep you going for a lot longer!

2). Just A Little Flick
Her clean, classic 1960's look is always on trend, so there's no way you'll look odd when you step out! There's no need to buy expensive brands if you're only trying the look out!

3). Keep It Sleek
Audrey's dark, shiny locks are trademark to her style. Whether in a classic top-knot or loose around her shoulders, it always looked perfectly groomed. Use L'Oreal Paris Nutri-Gloss Shine Shampoo & Conditioner and blow dry with a diffuser. For the bun hair-style, tie hair in a high ponytail and slot on a hair doughnut similar to your colour. Tuck and pin the hair in and around the bun and back-comb the front of your hair. If you're wanting to go for the extra glamour, you could wear a beaded headband or sparkly accessory to spruce it up!

4). Make It A Statement
If you're going for simple pieces then you'll need to have some statement accessories! Take a look at these, which are SO Audrey!

5). Stay Positive!
Depsite the constant attention that comes with fame, Audrey always managed to stay grounded. She has many life quotes to her name, and people would admire her for her optimism.

Have fun!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

On Wednesday, I went to see the highly anticipated adaption of Stephen Chbosky's 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'.
I wasn't sure what to expect from it, taking it to be one of those teen films that everyone raves about, but eventually dies out. I was very wrong.

The movie was one of the most inspirational, sad and eye-opening that I've ever seen, and really reached out to me. Packed to the brim with influential quotes and meaningful story-lines, it made it a very moving picture, that lived up to the greatness of the book.

Something that really caught my eye throughout was one of the main characters, Sam's, fashion. She was the eptimome of 90's cool. Always quite simplistic, with a slightly crazy, tomboy twist.
Her hair cropped and messy, with a slick black headband, Sam always gave the vibe that she didn't care what anyone thought about her.

Her preppy fashion was rarely bright, but still caught my attention.

You could see her personality reflected onto her clothes, which is something quite difficult to do, but her style was effortless and grungy, and easy to recreate! Sam's outfits were worlds away from Emma Watson's clean, sophisticated fashion, and it shows a completely versatile side to the actress.

If you haven't yet read the book or seen the movie, I highly recommend it as it is very emotional and creatively produced, and opened my eyes to ( this sounds cheesy!) what really matters.

Here are some of my Sam inspired outfits!
