Henry Holland Appreciation Post!

Isn't Henry Holland just fabulous? I simply adore his styles and fashion sense!  I love how he takes preppy and vintage to a whole knew level, incorporating cool and unique prints to simplistic material and colours... and his shoes are to die for! Hey, I even own a pair myself;

By far one of my favorite pairs of shoes! Half of my wardrobe is probably Henry Holland, I have a skirt which I wear all the time! A pair of his canvas shorts and three tops. One of which is silk and has cute little horse carriages on and another with a rabbit on. His clothes are in some ways very different but they really are my favorite items of clothing. Also, his SS2013 garments are amazing! Here's just a few of the beautiful outfits:

Some of his designs has the same designs but they're all unique in their own way. My personal favorite has got to be the multi-coloured dungarees over the top of a simple blouse. Ah, so can't wait until the next seasons clothes are out! Me and Rebecca are so going shopping!

Mary Katrantzou S/S 2013

WHAT; MARY KATRANTZOU S/S 2013
WHERE: LONDON FASHION WEEK
WHEN; 17TH SEPTEMBER

Cara Delevingne backstage at Mary Katrantzou S/S 2013

Reknown internationally for her distinctive digital prints, Mary Katrantzou wowed the crowds at London Fashion Week with her unique and powerful collection.

Using international stamps, from countries such as Venezuela, Mongolia and Finland, and bank notes, including Norway and Germany, Katrantzou created a vivid and bold line, that showed a more sophisticated side to the quirky designer.
A mix of bold and bright, to pale yet perplexing

Inspired by world history, global exploration and Guilloche pattern play, the streamlined and fitted dresses were a beautiful contrast against the perplexing prints.
Some of the more outrageous prints of the collection

Originally from Athens, Greece, Mary attended the prestigious Central Saint Martin's College in London, where she completed a Bachelor's and Master's Degree. Originally developing prints for interior design, she later turned to fashion, although many of her interior influences can be highlighted in her previous, and current, collections.

Models backstage having their make-up applied before the show began

The make-up for the S/S show was minimal, except a singular stripe of eye shadow, in brights and earthy hues. The hair was slicked back, with a small bun at the nape of the neck, so not to distract from the loud outfits.

As in the words of Mary Katrantzou herself, her collections are full of 'bold graphics and have a hyperrealist aesthetic', and, judging by the exciting prospect of this season's show, we can't help but agree.

The 64th Annual Emmy Awards

The 64th Annual Prime-time Emmy Awards

Kristen Wiig in Balenciaga, Kerry Washington in Vivienne Westwood & Lucy Liu in Versace

On Sunday night at the Staples Center in L.A, the stars of TV came out for the most anticipated and prestigious awards show in television, the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards!

Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen, Emilia Clarke in Chanel Haute Couture & Tina Fey in Vivienne Wesrwood

Despite the sweltering heat, the celebrities donned their best dresses and tuxedos for the night.

Julianne Hough in Georges Hobeika, Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Murad & Nicole Kidman in Antonio Beradi

Some of the stand-out starlets were Emilia Clarke, of Game of Thrones, in a white and purple patterned Chanel Haute Couture dress, Sofia Vergara (of Modern Family), in a tight sparkly aqua number, and, my personal favourite, Zooey Deschanel of New Girl, in a Cinderella-esque gown (which just so happened to get caught on the metal spikes of Lucy Liu's Versace!)
Zooey Deschanel in Reem Acra, Giuliana Rancic in Romona Keveza & Ariel Winter in Katherine Kidd

There was a beautiful array of colours, with fairly unknown designers being thrust into the spotlight by the actresses wearing their stunning dresses.

Above are the starlets we think had the best gowns of the night!

Matthew Williamson, London Fashion Week

"I am known for my use of colour, print and embellishment."

Matthew Williamson, by far one of my favorite designers (My duvet is even one of his creations from one of his most recent collections; Matthew Williamson Butterfly), was born in Manchester and soon became a graduate from Central St Martins college of The Arts.

(Me and Rebecca have always wanted to go there!)

His style is very bohemian, laid back, extremely colorful and just something special. His first job was a freelance design project with Marni. Soon enough, he was employed by Monsoon and Accessorize, following frequent trips to India.
These trips gave him the confidence and knowledge to put his own unique swatches into development which later became his first collection 'Electric Angels', shown at London's Fashion Week in 1997.

Moving on from the old stuff and onto the new stuff, did you see his creations at this years London Fashion Week!? W-O-W. Looking at his SS2013 collection, I can't help but feel excited!

The outfits are absolutely breath-taking, using mainly blues, pinks and oranges. Symmetrical and ombre patterns are a definite must right now, every girl should have a piece of clothing like that in their wardrobe.

The models makeup was neutral and their was hair pulled back in a bun with a center parting. C'est magnifique in my eyes. Hey, take a look for yourself...

Erdem S/S 2013

WHAT: ERDEM S/S 2013
WHERE: LONDON FASHION WEEK
WHEN; 17th SEPTEMBER, 2PM

As in the words of Head Designer himself, Erdem Moralioglu, this season's collection would be 'risk-taking and 'more out of his usual boundaries'. He certainly proved the fashion crowd right, showcasing a range of ladylike dresses, in shades of what can only be described as 'toxic pastels'.

The outlandishly beautiful collection was inspired by 1950's sci-fi writer and housewife, Zenna Henderson and was quoted as being something of an alien/spaceship type proposition.

Embroidered florals and mid length hemlines were popular in the line, with neon brights bringing the retro dress styles into a more modern proximity.

The Canadian native used intricate detailing on the creations, with miniscule flowers, beaded collars and the occasional baring midriff.

The make-up, applied by M.A.C, was clone-like and robotic, using neutral colours, with a slight neon lip.
The hair, by Charles Worthington, was pulled into a sleek low bun, which was a nice contrast against the loud prints of the dresses.
This collection is easily wearable and oozes feminity, and is perfect for the coming Spring season!

Lana Del Rey, H&M Campaign and Mulberry Show

Lana Del Rey, an American singer/songwriter is the new face of H&M! Wooop! Personally, we couldn't of picked a better person for the job. Her incredible singing voice and amazing style kicks off H&M's 2012 fall campaign, wearing items from their new selection and singing a beautiful cover of 'blue velvet.'

Lana has started to become very well known from the release of her hit single 'born to die' earlier this year and her very popular trade mark of red lips and 'bee-hive' hair style.

She was last spotted in the front row at the Mulberry show featured in London's fashion
week. Others like Kate Moss, actress Gillian Anderson and GB's very own Olympian Jessica Ennis joined her, each sporting their own Mulberry bag. Del Rey, who has one of the bags named after her, showed off an all white outfit accessoriesed with a black and white Mulberry bag itself.

We are both so looking forward to seeing her more in the near future!
