Jake Bugg

Jake Bugg

This probably should have been posted a while back, considering the concert was on the 5th of February, but us two and four other friends, Megan, Jennifer, Emilia and KT
(typicalteenagegirl101.blogspot.com) went to see Jake Bugg!

He is absolutely incredible live, and one of the most down to earth musicians in the industry.

Jake is credited for his comparisons to the likes of Bob Dylan and The Stone Roses, and for bringing a new era of music to the otherwise currently dowdy charts.

He performed an amazing set, even coming on for an encore to sing big hit Lightning Bolt, cue wild dancing and urine throwing.

Not one to hold his tongue, Jake has recently slammed One Direction multiple times, and criticized the Brits acts as 'awful', but I think it's great that he isn't afraid to be brutally honest, and that he still remains the lad from the council estate in Clifton.

We seriously annoyed the people behind us because of our enraged screaming and 'raving', but wotev. The support acts, Hudson Taylor and Little Green Cars, are also worth a listen too!

f you're considering going to see him, GO. That's the only advice we can give really!

Take A Walk

Hey everybody!

The updates on our blog are pretty bad, but we've literally been out with friends everyday for the past month, so its hard to find the time!
We're very happy at the moment, but this isn't exactly a personal blog so we won't dwindle on it!

On Monday, we went with our BFF KT ( of typicalteenagegirl101.blogspot.co.uk) to Olivia's house for one of our fabulously AMAZING girly days!

It's always a guaranteed good time, and we watched Harry Potter and ate a lot of junk :) We listened to some fab music, painted our nails and then went on a really REALLY good walk through the fields while the sun was setting, because we're cute little tings.

African dancing with horses is surprisingly uplifting. We've found a new 'spot' which is our secret spot, but we can't tell you where it is, just incase you manage to find it.

It's right underneath a huge motorway bridge, so you can hear all the lorries rushing above your head (SCARY), and down the bottom of a massive river, where there's a teeny little beach! We've also done a 'Bowl Challenge' ( at least that's what we think its called ) which Ariana Grande did! Take a look at it below!

And here's our new found obsession, Passion Pit, which granted us this post's title! Guarantee you will love them, especially if you adore the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and The Wombats!

Fashion East A/W 2013

Fashion East

What: Fashion East A/W 2013
Where: Somerset House, London
When : Monday 18th February 2013

Never is there a more diverse and entertaining show than Fashion East.

A display of utterly whimsical creations from upcoming designers are featured through the non-profit organisation, which was founded in the hope that it would retrieve some of the best designers and thrust their clothes into the spotlight.

It has surely done just that. Including reams of Elvis Presley, cuddly toys and fish (anyone?), this show was definitely one that would exceed fashion expectations, and give a more carefree expression to the usually serious side of Fashion Week.

What do you think of the creations? I love the outfits with the toy rabbits, how sweet!

December Days

Hi there!
Forgot to post about this, we've both been really busy!

The other day, I went round my very funny Nanna & Grandad's house with my little brother to have a cosy day in while it was raining outside. I don't think there is quite anything better, and it's a plus that they have the prettiest, nicest & tidiest house I've ever set foot in!
Here's a few pictures from the day!

Miracle on 34th Street is definitely one of my fave Christmas movies!

I wore a Fuschia Primark Shirt, which was reduced to just £3, a sequined Dorothy Perkins collar, which I bought in last year's sales for £1! (Reduced from £12.50!) and my New Look High Waisted Jeans, £12.99. My rather festive socks were from a small shop in South Shields.

Hope you all had some nice December Days!

Winter Accessories

At this time of the year everybody needs the perfect winter accessories! Whether it's hats, scarves, gloves, mugs, you name it, everybody has that one special thing they have or need every winter. For me, its the good ol' hat and scarf. A couple of years ago, my mam bought me this dark red, burgundy scarf which is called a snood. It's one of those super duper long ones that you can wrap around your neck for ages haha. When I first got it, I never really wore it but this year... I am absolutely LOVING it!

It's just so warm, and cozy! For you all that do not own one, you MUST get one! You'll love it, trust me! As well as a 'snood' person, I am also a 'beret' person. I find it's probably one of the only hats that will actually suit me and they're just so lovely :-) I have many different beret's but this is by far my fave! It's just simple, black with a hint of sparkle and at the front there is a little clear rhinestone which just brings it all together.

Oh Rebecca, the oh so beautiful Rebecca...
Here me and Rebecca are both sporting beret's (Can't really see Becky's though, it's hiding at the back of her head!) on the 1st of december when we went to see the beautiful Rizzle Kicks! (The beret, is also mine haha!)
(My other favey beret for y'all, the one Rebecca was wearing!)
The trusty denim winter jacket :-)

Here in England, it has been so so so cold lately (ha, when is it not!?) so I've ended up going out to school with more things on than I usually would. I live about 15 minutes away from school so I always have to get the car which I don't mind but I still have to walk about 5 minutes to actually get into the school and even then I'm shivering! Because it's normally like -1 walking to school, I have now started wearing a scarf, gloves and a thick jacket. Right now, I am absolutely loving this chilly, duck egg blue sort of colour and fortunate for me, mother Candler has a pair of cozy gloves in the colour that is so perfect for winter!

I have no clue where they're from but I'm sure if you look around you could get a pair just like this or very similar.

Winter is the time to whip out your old ugly Christmas scarf and bring it back into season! I love wrapping up all warm and snug in my favorite hat and scarf and so should you! I think it's time ladies to rummage at the back of your wardrobe and make it into something new.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Children in Need 2012

On Friday 16th November, it was BBC's Children in Need Day!
Children in Need is a UK charity, founded by the BBC, which originally began in 1980.

Olivia and I on CID Day, looking sassy

It raises MILLIONS and MILLIONS every year to aid disadvantaged and ill children, and, in total, has raised an unbelievable

£600million

in the past 32 years!

At our school, we had a non-uniform day to raise money, where every student has to bring in £1 as a donation, which already brings the total to over £1000!
I made some crispy cakes with my brother to sell at my dad's work and raised £11.20 (every little helps!).

Pudsey Bear is the leading mascot for Children in Need, and is always emblazoned on all of the fundraising merchandise and promotions. He had quite a transformation in 2007, when the old logo, used from 1986 to 2006, was abolished to make way for the current logo, a brighter, more computerized bear. Sorry, old Pudsey!

Here's Olivia, me (ew haha) and our friend Hannah on CIN Day

Not to mention, 32 of the most recognised fashion designers of the WORLD ( think Prada, Louis Vuitton & Gucci..EEP!) teamed together to help raise money for Children in Need by individually creating their own interpretation of Pudsey! Stitched in leather, Swarovzki crystals and patterned velvet, these bears are so stylish, it hurts. My favourites were definitely the Victoria Beckham, Alexander McQueen and LOEWE bears! Too cute!  Plus, 19 of the bears raised over £152,000!

As if it could GET any better, here's a clip of the rather wonderful One Direction singing their new single, Little Things, on Children in Need!

fruen

Hope you raised LOTS for the SPOTS!

Girls Aloud Are Back!

Girls Aloud. One band. 5 girls. By far one of our favorite bands in all of girl band history! (With the exception of Sugar Babes and Atomic Kitten!) Me and Rebecca grew up listening to their catchy hits, getting the CD's and the annuals when POOF they seemed to all just disappear off the face of the earth!

I mean, Sarah featured in 'St Trinian's' then disappeared, Nadine went solo and released an album... (personally, I actually really liked it! If you want to listen to it click the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG8XGXMB0gU ), I have no clue where Kimberley went, Nicola went solo and released a couple of songs an album and has suddenly become quite big in the fashion industry (in my opinion her most popular song is probably this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_BG3n1q5KU ) and of course, Cheryl was the most popular out of them all! She was a judge on the UK's X Factor and was supposed to be a judge on the USA's X Factor but it was then rumored her and Simon had a spat? Anyway, she has produced many singles, a couple of album's and stars on a L'Oreal Paris advert, advertising Casting Creme Gloss and Elnett hair spray. (Cheryl is also from Newcastle where we are!)

But now they are BACK! And bigger then ever! Their new hit single, 'Something New' has reached over a million views on their YouTube channel and has to be one of my favorite songs by the girls!

Some of my favorite songs from Girls Aloud are the following:

  • Sound Of The Underground
  • Call The Shouts
  • Can't Speak French
  • Love Machine
  • Sexy! No, No, No...
  • Something Kinda Ooooh
  • Something New
  • The St Trinian's theme tune
  • Promise

In their new video for 'Something New' it's a new fresh start! All dressed in fluorescent orange off the shoulder dresses, plain strappy black heels and a famous top knot bun, they all looked B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!

Tickets for their tour are out now so go buy some for your closest venue! Totally worth it in my eyes! Girls Aloud are definitely one of my styles crushes! ♥

Here are some outfit ideas for each of the girls! Hope yo enjoy! :-)
