Jake Bugg

Jake Bugg

This probably should have been posted a while back, considering the concert was on the 5th of February, but us two and four other friends, Megan, Jennifer, Emilia and KT
(typicalteenagegirl101.blogspot.com) went to see Jake Bugg!

He is absolutely incredible live, and one of the most down to earth musicians in the industry.

Jake is credited for his comparisons to the likes of Bob Dylan and The Stone Roses, and for bringing a new era of music to the otherwise currently dowdy charts.

He performed an amazing set, even coming on for an encore to sing big hit Lightning Bolt, cue wild dancing and urine throwing.

Not one to hold his tongue, Jake has recently slammed One Direction multiple times, and criticized the Brits acts as 'awful', but I think it's great that he isn't afraid to be brutally honest, and that he still remains the lad from the council estate in Clifton.

We seriously annoyed the people behind us because of our enraged screaming and 'raving', but wotev. The support acts, Hudson Taylor and Little Green Cars, are also worth a listen too!

f you're considering going to see him, GO. That's the only advice we can give really!

Take A Walk

Hey everybody!

The updates on our blog are pretty bad, but we've literally been out with friends everyday for the past month, so its hard to find the time!
We're very happy at the moment, but this isn't exactly a personal blog so we won't dwindle on it!

On Monday, we went with our BFF KT ( of typicalteenagegirl101.blogspot.co.uk) to Olivia's house for one of our fabulously AMAZING girly days!

It's always a guaranteed good time, and we watched Harry Potter and ate a lot of junk :) We listened to some fab music, painted our nails and then went on a really REALLY good walk through the fields while the sun was setting, because we're cute little tings.

African dancing with horses is surprisingly uplifting. We've found a new 'spot' which is our secret spot, but we can't tell you where it is, just incase you manage to find it.

It's right underneath a huge motorway bridge, so you can hear all the lorries rushing above your head (SCARY), and down the bottom of a massive river, where there's a teeny little beach! We've also done a 'Bowl Challenge' ( at least that's what we think its called ) which Ariana Grande did! Take a look at it below!

And here's our new found obsession, Passion Pit, which granted us this post's title! Guarantee you will love them, especially if you adore the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and The Wombats!

Two Door Cinema Club

On Thursday, us and three of our friends went to see the AMAZING Two Door Cinema Club!

 Yes, really!

After getting the tickets last minute, it was a bit of a scramble getting an outfit together that was good enough to impress Alex, Sam and Kevin but we just about managed!

It was an incredible night, with dance-offs, mosh pits and a topless guy who wanted to recruit 'pointy homies'.

Plus, we got so RIDICULOUSLY close to the front!

From L-R: Sam Halliday, Alex Trimble and Kevin Baird. Mmm.
Hm.
Yeah, it ain't even zoomed in honey.

Supporting was Nirvana-esque group Swim Deep and the rather fabulous Bastille.

Anyway, enjoy these few pictures and videos from the concert!

A pretty bad picture of what I wore, the ladz and from L-R: Beccy, Olivia, Jenn, Emma & Emilia!

I wore a New Look top (£7.99), a New Look Kids soft denim skirt ( £11.99) and a Topshop Chain Necklace ( £14, nabbed it for £7 ;-) )

Olivia wore a Hollister hoodie, Topshop jeans and a white lace top, with some B-EAU-TIFUL Urban Outfitters studded platforms, in the sale for A TENNER. WHAT!?

Only a week til Jake Bugg!

Inked

Inked

On behalf of us both, I deeply apologise for our lack of post updates.
We've both been SUPER busy, but we'll try and keep the blog following even though we're back at school now! This isn't exactly a fashion-related post, but more of a latest craze post.

At the moment, I have a bit of an obsession for tattoos.
Now, I am only 15 and there are a few years before I am even legally allowed to THINK about getting 'inked', but I found a lot of really cute tattoos that I simply must share!

There seems to be an odd craze for getting Chinese symbols tattooed on ( a lot probably don't even know what they mean! ) and I can honestly say that I am guilty for drawing Chinese thingys on my arm too because I thought it was cool :(
Anyway, I definitely prefer smaller, more meaningful tattoos compared to the bright and bold sleeve ones that are SO FETCH right now.

This one is my favourite, possibly because Lightning Bolt by Jake Bugg is one of my fave songs! I think it's so cool.

Hope you enjoyed the post and expect more stuff coming rather soon!

A Christmas Day Out

After school today, me, Rebecca and KT from typicalteenagegirl101.blogspot.co.uk went shopping for a few bits and bobs for christmas :-)

It was a lovely day out as we finished early at school and it was even better feeling the Christmassy chilled weather and spirit spreading through Newcastle!

We also visited Fenwicks window (courtesy of Rebecca) and danced to the joyful Christmas music playing from the displays.

Not only did we get some Christmas shopping done, we also visited 'Cruise' which is full of all the designer handbags and shoes and just down right beautiful stuff! Very expensive also :-(

I managed to get some sneaky photos of some of the clothes, handbags and shoes which, unfortunately, none of us could afford!  One of the Gucci bags were REDUCED to £1,500. I say, REDUCED.

Here's another video of Newcastle:

Merry Christmas! Have you wrapped all your presents yet?

The Top 10 Things Needed For A Warm Winter!

Do you love Christmas as much as I do? Because it's by far my fave time of the year! I love the chilly weather nipping at your nose (and who could forget the snow!? It's not Christmas until everything's covered in snow!), everybody's homes decorated in elaborate flashing lights and Christmas trees on display in the front window. And of course, all the food that comes with it ;-) But I think my favorite part of Christmas is definitely Christmas Eve. The excitement you get from the moment you wake up on the 24th of December to the minute you fall asleep. I mean I'm 15 and I know I'm not the only one who gets excited! Me and my family have this tradition that we do ever year. We go to a restaurant and have a deliciously cooked meal, then we venture out to the flicks to see a film (my dad and brother are probably going to see the hobbit and me and my mam find that stuff waaaaaay too confusing so I think Nativity 2 is on the cards!), by this time it's pretty late so we drive back home, have a cup of tea and some crumpets, put on our new pajamas that 'Santa's Elves' have sent for us and go to bed. Does anyone else have traditions they do every year?

For the perfect Christmas here are my top ten things needed for a warm winter!Plenty of Decorations - Can't go wrong with a bit of lights and baubles!

1. Blankets! - Those really furry soft ones that are perfect for wrapping up in when you're watching a Christmas movie.
photo.JPG
2. Christmas songs - Yeah, I know the same songs that are played every year do get a bit boring but it's not Christmas unless you have those cheesy tunes ringing out in the back ground.

3. HOT CHOCOLATE - You can't go wrong with a bit of chocolate... that's hot. Topped with whipped cream and marshmallows, p-e-r-f-e-c-t. It also goes great with the warm blankets and the Christmas movies.

4. Christmas Sweaters - I mean, how could you not possibly own a Christmas jumper? They're perfect for chucking on when it's cold and snowing outside and you're warm and toasty inside (with your hot chocolate and blankets of course!) Read Rebecca's post about ugly Christmas sweaters that actually aren't that, well...ugly.

5. Hat, Scarfs and Gloves - Can't go wrong with a matching set? Read my post about some of my favorite Winter accessories that will go perfect with any outfit!

6. CHRISTMAS MOVIES! - There's no joy in Christmas without the films to go with it? Some of my favorites definitely have to be: Elf, Polar Express and Nativity.

photo.JPG7. Fuzzy Socks - When December rolls around, the socks come out! Even if it's not Christmas, I still wear the socks... I live in England where it's basically winter all year so it's allowed.

8. Candles - Just going to come out with this... I'm a HUGE lover of candles like seriously. Especially Yankee Candle. It's just the assortment of scents that could literally make you melt. Vanilla, cinnamon, gingerbread, Frankincense and Mur (My mam had this candle yesterday it was so so so nice!)

photo.JPG9. Buying Presents - I absolutely love going out and shopping for friends and family! When they open the gift that you carefully wrapped with you're favorite paper you got them and just seeing their face light up is one of the best parts of Christmas. Sharing is caring guys!

Last but not least, Christmas Cheer! - Cheesy, I know but when every one is all happy and laughing and excited for Christmas it just makes me happy and even more excited! You know, having snow ball fights with your friends in the school field sliding all over the ice! Making gingerbread houses and just generally having the time of your life. Just let your hair down and have a great winter!

Rizzle Kicks!

        Rizzle Kicks

Sorry for the rather late update as we've been rather busy, but on Saturday 1st December, we went to see... Rizzle Kicks! Apart from being squished within an inch  of other so-called 'ravers' in the middle of a mosh-pit, and being covered in not the nicest of substances, it was one of the wildest, loudest and funniest concerts we've ever been to!

We had spent the first part of the day in Newcastle, dressing up in Topshop and going for a Chinese ( don't eat banana pancakes ) and Starbucks. We queued outside, being the dedicated fans we are, and managed to squeeze our way to the front of the stage, without being trampled on! Harley and Jordan looked as beautiful as ever, and played all of the songs from their album, plus some of their remixes, including their duet with Ed Sheeran! That made us HAPPY.

Supporting them was Little Nikki, who used to be in UK band Soundgirl, who I seen when they supported Pixie Lott in 2010. She is now a solo singer/rapper and you should DEFINITELY check her out! She wore a bodycon skeleton dress, which is from Topshop for £50.

Their other support act was upcoming rapper Mikill Pane (pronounced Michael...but we're gonna call him Mikill ). He is destined to be big, and was even drinking on stage! We got  lucky and met him outside after the gig, and got his autograph on the back of our tickets! Wowza! We don't have any proper pictures of our outfits, but we do have our sassy pictures in Topshop :-)

Here's the videos (they most definitely aren't perfect!)

This one's not ours! Mikill Pane:
After the concert, we had a sleepover at Olivia's, and had cheesy nachos for our breakfast and went on Take That and High School Musical Sing Star. Righteous. We couldn't take any pictures because I had a Mikill Pane tattoo in the middle of my forehead. Not righteous.

Anyway, we hope you enjoy the videos and we'll talk to you later!

Love you all,

Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung, former British model, TV presenter and at just 29 years old she is definitely one of the UK's biggest fashion influences to this day!

Style Crush ♥

At the age of 16, she was scouted by a modelling agency while in the comedy tent at reading festival.  Chung was then taken on by a London based agency called; Storm Model Management and began to work for multiple teen magazines such as Elle Girl and CosmoGIRL! Not only has she modeled she has also worked for companies such as Fanta, Urban Outfitters, Sony Ericsson, Sunsilk and Tampax and has featured in music videos produced by The Streets, Westlife, Delta Goodrem, Reuben and Holly Valance. She also stared as 'Jake' in a reality TV show broadcasted on Fashion TV called 'Shoot Me' in 2005.

After four years in the modeling world, she decided to go a different direction and set off with the intention of beginning an art foundation or becoming a fashion journalist (Just like me and Becky!) However, after becoming a TV personality, she returned back to her modeling days and became the face of  Australian fashion label called Antipodium's SS 2008 collection and Oxfams ethical fashion range, Revamped. In 2009, Alexa strutted down the catwalk as part of the Vivienne Westwood Red Label Spring/Summer show at London Fashion Week.

Through a course of 3-5 years, Alexa has found herself becoming the face of many well known high street shops like New Look, Next, Lacoste and many more! She has also moved on to a new modeling agency; Select Model Management and taken part in London Fashion Week 2012 with Stella McCartney.

With her shoulder length brown waves and her famous winged liner, and not to mention her AMAZING fashion style, Alexa is one of my favorite people to get inspiration for a 'new' look.

@tennesseebunny Tennessee Bloodamere got me a matching leopardy jacket for my burfday! Thanks maaaaate xxx - @chungalexa- #webstagram
She can put two of the most clashing items together and make it work. Plus many of her outfits are very 60's and unusual to today's eye which is one of the things I love about her! I mean, leopard print and stripes? I would never be so daring! Not only does she go for daring prints, she also goes for big statement jewelry like huge chunky necklaces and an array of coloured gem rings.

In many of her outfits, she never seems to wear heels but I think that's one of the things I love about her. She doesn't need 6 inch glittery heels to make her style 'look good'. She seems quite happy with a pair of oxfords or boots teamed with a thrilling outfit. (Seriously wish I could see her wardrobe, I'll be like a kid in a sweet shop!)

She also dated the magnificent and so god damn beautiful Arctic Monkey's front man, Alex Turner. Well jel!

Here are some of my Alexa Chung inspired outfits!

Ed Sheeran

IMG_20121111_123355.jpg

As you all know, us ( Becca & Olivia) and a couple of our friends ( KT & Hannah) went to see the almighty ginger sex god, Ed Sheeran! Honestly, hands on our heart, it was by far one of the BEST concerts we've ever been to! We were even 2nd row from the front! How good is that!?

He started off with his new hit single, 'Give Me Love' which is the last song to be produced from his debut album,  +. He is absolutely amazing live and we are so glad we got to see him!

His set was a constant flow of beautiful melodies, many which sounded even BETTER live than on his EP's. He always had one of his four trusty guitars in tow, and was BEAT-BOXING ( once in a lifetime experience that is, mind).

His support acts were Passenger ( our main man Mike ) and Foy Advance, who were both incredibly talented and surprisingly unsigned. You should definitely check them out!

My ( Becca ) favourite song of the night was most definitely one of his most popular hits ' You Need Me, I Don't Need You', which lasted a WHOPPING 12 minutes! And he didn't go a note out of tune, even when he was jumping on top of the speakers right next to us ( swoon..) !

He even asked the audience to be remotely quiet for a couple of songs by saying "If you love me, you'll be quiet.", which made Olivia practically melt! This ensued a few "WE LOVE YOU ED!" shrieks (who, us...) but it was such an amazing experience to see the entire City Hall succumb to silence to just listen to his heavenly voice.

Dressed in a modest cartoon 'Flipper' t-shirt and raggy jeans, he was far from a Nicki Minaj-style concert with all of the constant costume revamps and extravagant staging, it was simply just him, and a 'mirror wall', where you could see the gig from his point of view, which we thought was really cool, especially when everyone was waving their phone lights!

We were DEVASTATED when he walked off after his two hour set, as was everyone else. We did make buddies with his stage handy-man Trevor though. What a guy.

Here's a quick view of what we wore to the gig, and also take a look at the videos! And we are NOT in    anyway singing superstars. Just putting it out there. :-)

What Becca wore:

Okay, so this picture is pretty terrible, but bear in mind it was 1am and I already had that post-concert depression feeling creeping up on me ( worst feeling EVER in my opinion). I wore this tartan dress ( in age 10-11 D:) from the kids section in New Look, which was only £12.99, which is a bargain, considering tartan is apparently going to be 'big' this season and my trusty old leather jacket which I've had for 5 years! (M&S, don't even remember!). I wore some black suede wedges ( also from New Look, £25.00) which I got as a Christmas present last year.

Jewellery-wise, I wore my Ed Sheeran bracelets and a glow-stick band we all got off Olivia's mam! I also wore my swallow bird earrings ( River Island, £1.50 ) and my fave golden heart pendant ( Accessorize, £5.00 ).

We all drew black 'Sheeran' paws on our hand in permanent marker, which turned out to be a pretty big mistake, as it didn't come off for four days!

From Left to Right : Hannah, Becca, Olivia & KT! Aw.

Our Ed inspired nail art! From clockwise top: Olivia, Hannah, Becca & KT!

What Olivia wore:

Hey guys! So, I got this outfit ESPECIALLY for the beautiful ginger sex god (wink ;-)) and it consisted of a sheer black dress from H&M with a pleather peter pan colar £29.99, my gorgeous denim jacket with fur lining from Top Shop £55 (expensive I know! You can probably find cheeper versions elsewhere so look around before you choose to buy!) my creeper style shoes from Top Shop which were originally a wopping £65 but I got them in the sale for £10! How good is that!? Last but not least, I wore my trusty gold buckle ring that I wear
EVERYDAY! Never take it off :-)
and my Ed Sheeran jewellry. (Rebecca got me one of these bracelets for my birthday last year so we are matching! How cute!?)

Here's some videos from the gig, which were taken on Becca's phone!
