It Was Christmas Eve, Babe

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, I went to see Home Alone at the cinema with my dad and brother, which was SO FUN!
We went to the Metrocentre, which is a huge shopping centre where we lived, and I was lucky to get first dibs in the Topshop sale! Woohoo!

On Christmas Eve, we always go with our cousins to Christingle at the Church on the Hill, which is possibly the cutest Church ever! All the children recieve an orange ( which represents the world) four sticks with sweets on ( which represents the four seasons ) and a glowing candle in the middle ( which represents Jesus and the light he brought to the world). We sang our fave carols, and got front row seats too, being the VIPs we are!

Who doesn't love New Xmas PJS!?

I love the excitement on Christmas Eve, it never gets old! You can't forget to sprinkle your reindeer food out the front door though, Rudolph gets hungry too!

Here's a sneak peek extra video of Olivia and I jousting in Makro the other day. We also got paper-bombed by a 7 year old and found a unicorn called Jimmy. What a guy.

It Ain't The End of the World

Hey guys! Everyone still alive? Good stuff.

We've had a great day today, and it's just an extra that its now officially the CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS!
(insert celebratory twerk here)

2 whole weeks of freedom! Anyway, it was great giving people their presents, and everyone was in such a good mood today!

The only downside was saying goodbye to our good friend who is moving to the other side of the world :-(

It made us appreciate how many AMAZING friends we have, and that we should never take anyone for granted.

Here's a video of us after school singing the one and only Mariah Carey classic (fab, right?):

Hope you are all in the festive spirit too!

A Christmas Day Out

After school today, me, Rebecca and KT from typicalteenagegirl101.blogspot.co.uk went shopping for a few bits and bobs for christmas :-)

It was a lovely day out as we finished early at school and it was even better feeling the Christmassy chilled weather and spirit spreading through Newcastle!

We also visited Fenwicks window (courtesy of Rebecca) and danced to the joyful Christmas music playing from the displays.

Not only did we get some Christmas shopping done, we also visited 'Cruise' which is full of all the designer handbags and shoes and just down right beautiful stuff! Very expensive also :-(

I managed to get some sneaky photos of some of the clothes, handbags and shoes which, unfortunately, none of us could afford!  One of the Gucci bags were REDUCED to £1,500. I say, REDUCED.

Here's another video of Newcastle:

Merry Christmas! Have you wrapped all your presents yet?

Santa Darlin'

Why am I, of all people, doing a nail tutorial?
Despite having hundreds of nail varnishes, I normally find doing more intricate designs rather tricky.

I can't be the only one who goes into a state of frustration and slight despair when that one perfect nail smudges? Annoying, right?
I wouldn't quite call this a 'tutorial' ( I'll leave that to the pro beauty blogs ) but more of a nail inspiration. Yeah, I like that better. So out my lil Santa-style nails!

I tend to use this Bambi Sandalwood Hand Cream before painting my nails as it keeps them moisturised and easier to coat, but I use it every day too. It was only £1.99 from H&M, which is completely worth it as it smells DELICIOUS!

I also use a buffer block before applying two coats of Rimmel Movie Star Red, but only painting one third of the ring finger.

Once that has dried, if you don't have proper nail gear like me, use a hair grip to dip in the white nail varnish ( I'm using Calvin Klein) to dot along underneath the red on the ring finger to create the fluff on Santy's hat!

After all of your nails are looking festively fab, use a glossy top coat, like Avon Top Coat, to make sure your design doesn't smudge and stays sassy all week long!

Hope you enjoyed this 'nail inspiration' and have fun trying it out!

Ho Ho Ho

P.S. Check out these two amazing Geordie lasses ( girls from Newcastle ) with their cover of Santa Baby! I love it haha! Xo

Winter Accessories

At this time of the year everybody needs the perfect winter accessories! Whether it's hats, scarves, gloves, mugs, you name it, everybody has that one special thing they have or need every winter. For me, its the good ol' hat and scarf. A couple of years ago, my mam bought me this dark red, burgundy scarf which is called a snood. It's one of those super duper long ones that you can wrap around your neck for ages haha. When I first got it, I never really wore it but this year... I am absolutely LOVING it!

It's just so warm, and cozy! For you all that do not own one, you MUST get one! You'll love it, trust me! As well as a 'snood' person, I am also a 'beret' person. I find it's probably one of the only hats that will actually suit me and they're just so lovely :-) I have many different beret's but this is by far my fave! It's just simple, black with a hint of sparkle and at the front there is a little clear rhinestone which just brings it all together.

Oh Rebecca, the oh so beautiful Rebecca...
Here me and Rebecca are both sporting beret's (Can't really see Becky's though, it's hiding at the back of her head!) on the 1st of december when we went to see the beautiful Rizzle Kicks! (The beret, is also mine haha!)
(My other favey beret for y'all, the one Rebecca was wearing!)
The trusty denim winter jacket :-)

Here in England, it has been so so so cold lately (ha, when is it not!?) so I've ended up going out to school with more things on than I usually would. I live about 15 minutes away from school so I always have to get the car which I don't mind but I still have to walk about 5 minutes to actually get into the school and even then I'm shivering! Because it's normally like -1 walking to school, I have now started wearing a scarf, gloves and a thick jacket. Right now, I am absolutely loving this chilly, duck egg blue sort of colour and fortunate for me, mother Candler has a pair of cozy gloves in the colour that is so perfect for winter!

I have no clue where they're from but I'm sure if you look around you could get a pair just like this or very similar.

Winter is the time to whip out your old ugly Christmas scarf and bring it back into season! I love wrapping up all warm and snug in my favorite hat and scarf and so should you! I think it's time ladies to rummage at the back of your wardrobe and make it into something new.

Merry Christmas everyone!

-Olivia :-) x

So I've just looked at our blog and discovered it has over 1000 views ALREADY? Wow guys, we can't honestly thank you enough! It may not seem loads to those who have far more than us but me and Rebecca are new to the whole 'blogging' business and we are overjoyed that Ro Ro is actually doing pretty well :-) anyway, thank you so so so much! We love you all and have a great day! It's snowing where me and Rebecca live so we are extremely excited about that too :-)

The Top 10 Things Needed For A Warm Winter!

Do you love Christmas as much as I do? Because it's by far my fave time of the year! I love the chilly weather nipping at your nose (and who could forget the snow!? It's not Christmas until everything's covered in snow!), everybody's homes decorated in elaborate flashing lights and Christmas trees on display in the front window. And of course, all the food that comes with it ;-) But I think my favorite part of Christmas is definitely Christmas Eve. The excitement you get from the moment you wake up on the 24th of December to the minute you fall asleep. I mean I'm 15 and I know I'm not the only one who gets excited! Me and my family have this tradition that we do ever year. We go to a restaurant and have a deliciously cooked meal, then we venture out to the flicks to see a film (my dad and brother are probably going to see the hobbit and me and my mam find that stuff waaaaaay too confusing so I think Nativity 2 is on the cards!), by this time it's pretty late so we drive back home, have a cup of tea and some crumpets, put on our new pajamas that 'Santa's Elves' have sent for us and go to bed. Does anyone else have traditions they do every year?

For the perfect Christmas here are my top ten things needed for a warm winter!Plenty of Decorations - Can't go wrong with a bit of lights and baubles!

1. Blankets! - Those really furry soft ones that are perfect for wrapping up in when you're watching a Christmas movie.
photo.JPG
2. Christmas songs - Yeah, I know the same songs that are played every year do get a bit boring but it's not Christmas unless you have those cheesy tunes ringing out in the back ground.

3. HOT CHOCOLATE - You can't go wrong with a bit of chocolate... that's hot. Topped with whipped cream and marshmallows, p-e-r-f-e-c-t. It also goes great with the warm blankets and the Christmas movies.

4. Christmas Sweaters - I mean, how could you not possibly own a Christmas jumper? They're perfect for chucking on when it's cold and snowing outside and you're warm and toasty inside (with your hot chocolate and blankets of course!) Read Rebecca's post about ugly Christmas sweaters that actually aren't that, well...ugly.

5. Hat, Scarfs and Gloves - Can't go wrong with a matching set? Read my post about some of my favorite Winter accessories that will go perfect with any outfit!

6. CHRISTMAS MOVIES! - There's no joy in Christmas without the films to go with it? Some of my favorites definitely have to be: Elf, Polar Express and Nativity.

photo.JPG7. Fuzzy Socks - When December rolls around, the socks come out! Even if it's not Christmas, I still wear the socks... I live in England where it's basically winter all year so it's allowed.

8. Candles - Just going to come out with this... I'm a HUGE lover of candles like seriously. Especially Yankee Candle. It's just the assortment of scents that could literally make you melt. Vanilla, cinnamon, gingerbread, Frankincense and Mur (My mam had this candle yesterday it was so so so nice!)

photo.JPG9. Buying Presents - I absolutely love going out and shopping for friends and family! When they open the gift that you carefully wrapped with you're favorite paper you got them and just seeing their face light up is one of the best parts of Christmas. Sharing is caring guys!

Last but not least, Christmas Cheer! - Cheesy, I know but when every one is all happy and laughing and excited for Christmas it just makes me happy and even more excited! You know, having snow ball fights with your friends in the school field sliding all over the ice! Making gingerbread houses and just generally having the time of your life. Just let your hair down and have a great winter!

Christmas Tag

Blogger Christmas Tag

My Christmas tree!
Some of you may have seen the several Christmas tags on Blogger lately, so I decided to join in and answer some of the more popular questions :-) So here goes:

1). When do you start getting excited for Christmas?
Normally around late September time, but I tend to get random bursts of excitement throughout the year!

2). What is your favourite Christmas colour?
AAAAA I don't know! Red is the usual answer, but I quite like emerald green.

3). What is your favourite Christmas movie?
Definitely Elf. I don't think there is a funnier Christmas movie. I also love the Muppets, Grinch & Miracle on 34th Street though!

4). Do you have any Christmas traditions?
We always have a huge family gathering, and on Christmas Eve we all go to a Christingle service at our local church and then get new pyjamas ( they always smell so good!).

5). What are your favourite Christmas songs?
We would be here forever if I had to list them all haha, but the best are:

All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey
Fairytale of New York - The Pogues
Warm this Winter - Gabriella Cilmi
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Miley Cyrus (guilty pleasure!)
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - Not Really Sure

6). Do you stay in your PJ's or dress up for Christmas?
I love to dress up for Christmas, as I think it's a day when you can just wear what you want and have fun with it!

7). If you could only buy a present for one person this year, who would it be?
Even though they wouldn't appreciate it, my little twin cousins since it's their first Christmas! ( They can count as one!)

8). What do you do on your Winter break?
I love going out with friends, having snowball fights, watching movies and baking!

9). What is your favourite Christmas smell?
Probably cinnamon and gingerbread, they smell gooooooood.

10). What's your festive make-up look?
I am ( ask anyone) awful with make-up, so I tend not to wear much. If it is Christmas though, I attempt to wear red lipstick and some sparkly things! Gotta have some Christmas BADAZZLE!

11). Do you prefer giving or receiving presents?
Most definitely giving. I love seeing people's faces light up when you get them something totally ridiculous that they'll prbably never use! And I love to wrap gifts, so that's a bonus.

12) Handmade or shop-bought cards?
I've been making handmade cards since I was around 4, so I would say handmade!

14). What's your favourite Christmas food?
You're making me CHOOSE!? Maybe Celebrations or roast potatoes. They're like cooked heaven.

Why not have a go at these questions yourself and post them on your blog, we would love to see your answers!

Merry Christmas!

P.s. Here's a rather fabulous video of us as elves, featuring KT and Kanye West ( worth a watch)!

Have a Corny Christmas!

Have A Corny Christmas!

Many of you out there, yes, including the high-flying fashionistas, have a secret.

Right in the very back of their designer-clad wardrobe, beneath the Blahniks and Balenciagas, lie the monstrosity that can only be known as

 THE CHRISTMAS JUMPER

It can strike fear into the hearts of the fashion Scrooges,
who determine that they should only be worn in ultimate darkness, or on one of those 90's family Christmas cards.

Little do they know that retailers all across the world have constructed a plot...to destroy the hoo-ha about these bold sweaters, and create something that will put these 'Scrooges' to shame. Behold the 2012 gang of Christmas jumpers.
Go get your HO HO on, girl.

LOT78 Jumper, £220, as seen on the fabulous Lauren Conrad!

This one is my favourite, and is 3.1 Phillip Lim, for £416. Now, I'm not expecting you to go all out and pay the hefty price tag on this beauty, but you could always get inspiration from it and have a wack at DIY'ing one yourself!

                                                                                        Preen, £595

Chinti & Parker, £350

H&M, £24.99
Meadem Kirchoff, £945 (wowza!)
H&M, £19.99, & Topshop, £50 ( the one Olivia tried on last Saturday!)

And the corniest of the lot:

River Island, £38
This is a mens jumper, but it's just so deliciously cheesy, I HAD to put it in!

So take your pick, and wear your fabulous festive sweater with

PRIDE!

Merry Christmas!
Love, R x.
